A Brief History of Zoidial Incorporated
Near the end of 1998 a very unoriginal idea was born - this idea was to offer hosting services to people who, as you could guess, needed hosting. Unfortunately there were a zillion companies that offered said hosting, so why should a small company offering the same thing matter? The answer is fairly simple and straightforward: During a time when other companies bled money into their horrid tech support and bloated advertising campaigns while overloading their servers with clients - Zoidial Incorporated has worked directly with its customers to make sure they are simply happy with the service provided. Data security, integrity and availability should be the first concern of any company. Of course nothing is ever 100% safe in the digital world, but would you really want your data stored on a machine along with 500 other users? Do the admins of that machine care about your vacation pictures or your collection of poems? If your answer to any of these questions was "how does this relate to Zoidial Incorporated?" then you should be reprimanded for answering a question with a question. But more importantly you should understand that here at Zoidial, we actually care about you, because we remember being clients as well! Between 1999 and the end of 2001, Zoidial was incorporated as a company, and offered a selection of different services. These included colocations, dedicated servers, shell accounts, webhosting, IRCd accounts, gameservers and consulting services. This was all done on a dual T1 connections (3mbps) out of the owners apartment from upstate New York. In the beginning of 2002, Zoidial Incorporated moved all its servers to Hurricane Electric in Fremont, California. This move proved to be a tough time, however the new network speeds allowed for much more space for Zoidial to grow. Over the next year, Zoidial Incorporated migrated away from colocations and servers, and moved into core services of Webhosting and IRCd Unix accounts. At the end of 2002 and on into 2003 the company has consolidated core services in order to save the customer (and us) money and maintain profitability (which, in the dot-com bust years, is a hard thing to do!). From 2003 till today, Zoidial has been profitable -- and with a client base from all around the world, Zoidial services are only getting better, while the company is thriving in a market that is thirsty for quality hosting with one-on-one service. A large series of server and network infrastructure upgrades spanning 2008 has allowed for more flexibility and stability. From multiple mail servers in multiple countries making sure all Zoidial client mail is scanned for viruses and spam, to redundant servers in our data centre in Fremont, CA, to offsite servers that can host terabytes of incremental backups - we've been busy investing to make sure things are running smoothly for years to come!
