Q: What does Zoidial Incorporated do?

A: Zoidial Incorporated provides website hosting, colocation, virtualization (virtual servers), and VoIP services.

Q: What type of server and operating system do you run?

A: You can view our server information page here. Zoidial Incorporated runs mostly FreeBSD and Linux servers.

Q: Does Zoidial Incorporated allow SSH/Telnet and shell access to their servers?

A: Yes, however you have to sign up for this option. we allow SSH access to our servers, and telnet in some circumstances. We do not recommend anyone use telnet as SSH is as easy to set up and use, and is secure.

Q: Do you allow FTP and Secure FTP access to your servers?

A: Yes, we provide FTP and Secure FTP, however to use Secure FTP you must have Shell access to the system.

Q: What address do I use for FTP or connecting to the Shell?

A: You can use your domain name as the account, ie. www.yourdomain.com or ftp.yourdomain.com. Since Zoidial Incorporated has a number of servers, we cannot give one single address to connect to, so please use your own domain.

Q: Help! I can't connect to FTP!

A: Make sure you are connecting to ftp.yourdomain.com or www.yourdomain.com and not an IP address or another domain. If this doesn't work, check to see if your domain hasn't expired with a domain registrar (you can check some of this with the whois on www.dnsstuff.com or with the registrar you purchased the domain with). If problems persist, please email the Zoidial support email.

Q: My Domain has expired and/or is in pending delete!

A: You need to renew this domain with the registrar. If Zoidial has purchased this domain for you and is through our registrar, please contact us promptly and we will sort this out. It may be that the domain has not been paid for and has lapsed, but we will happily do whatever we can to make sure the domain does not go offline!

Q: What version of PHP Do you offer?

A: We have servers that include PHP 4 as standard. We can set up a virtual system with PHP 5 or 6 if you require a test-bed system for development.

Q: What sort of webhosting server software are you using?

A: We have servers that run Apache 1.3 variants as well as servers that run Apache 2. Most of our hosting currently runs on Apache 1.3

Q: What version of MySQL do you have running, and do you support other databases?

A: Our main system uses MySQL 4, and we have a separate mysql server that has both mysql 4 and mysql 5 available. We also have PostgreSQL support on our main hosting system.

Q: How do I connect to mysql - What hostname do I use?

A: Mysql is situated on the webhosting server itself, so you can use 'localhost' as the mysql server. If you are trying to connect from an external connection (for managing the system or for any othe reason) you will not be allowed, as the server only accepts connections from localhost. If you require this access for some reason, contact us and we can set this up for you.

Q: I would like an SSL Certificate for either my personal page or ecommerce applications, do you provide such things?

A: Zoidial Incorporated has shared SSL Certificates available for everyone hosted with us, however these are not certified by any authority and are self-signed. For a proper certificate to use for ecommerce or a personal page, you can purchase one through us from our hosting services page, as we are a Geotrust and Verisign reseller.

Q: My question is not answered here or in the Flash tutorials, where do I go for help?
